How Sales work:

We will be giving each artist a receipt book that has 3 copies of each receipt (carbon copies). Anytime a customer wants to make a purchase you would write out a receipt for each customer (you can put multiple items on one receipt). You would keep one copy of the receipt and give the customer the other 2 copies. The customer then comes to our cash register and pays the total written on the receipt. We then sign the receipt so that you know it was paid, and then we keep one copy of the receipt and give the customer the last copy, which states they have paid. They then go back to you, show you the paid receipt, and then you give them the product(s). At the end of the transaction, everyone has a copy of the receipt, you, us, and the customer. That way at the end of the day we can all tally up the sales. We will be writing checks at the end of the event for each artist, minus the 15% that stays with us.

It sounds complicated, but it isn’t that bad, and it allows for one point of sales, so all the artists don’t have to do credit card processing and all that. We heard that emerging artists appreciate this method, which is why we are going this route.

Let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification. I will be getting all this information online and emailed out this week.

Thank you for your participation and your questions. We want to do right by all our artists and we need feedback to do that.

You are welcome to come by and see the space anytime, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 2 pm, to get more familiar with the space, parking, etc.

Our story - always being written

How We Got Started

We got our start during the pandemic, out of a recognition that our immediate world is shrinking and in that is an opportunity to match community needs with community resources. As a member of Parkville Presbyterian Church, founder Marcus Flores saw opportunity where need and resources collide.

Where We Are Now

Confident of the need and the resources available, we are building a coalition of leaders, members, partners and support, to be the heart and soul of the Parkville Living Center. Read more here.
